House Tour: Kitchen

The kitchen is the first thing we fell in love with when we walked through the door of our house for the first time. It was still in pieces when we first saw it, but we knew it had amazing potential. Our builder picked all the finishes aside from a few changes we made. We chose to have the freestanding hood range instead of another upper cabinet. And we changed the faucet to a more industrial look and picked out the pendent lights for over the island. The more we live in it, the more we love it!

The Radder Family

We've known this family for a long time, and that makes this session extra special. I really love when families let their kids be kids. When they embrace the silliness and the sticking-out-the-tongue shots and all the craziness that makes a family who they are. Everyone (including me!), wants the shots where everyone is looking and everyone is smiling. But the best ones? The ones that you will cherish many years from now? Those are the ones where everyone is being themselves, and just for that minute you forget that there is a camera in front of your face.

Banff and Meltdowns

We booked a last minute weekend away to Banff, just the 4 of us. This was the first weekend in a long time that I didn't have a session, and we took advantage of the lingering beautiful fall weather. We used to go out to Banff or Canmore every year, but the last time we went was when Sullivan was almost one and I was unknowingly 2 days away from finding out I was pregnant with Flynn.

We went to all our favourite spots. Attempted dinners out that were disasters. Bundled up and felt the first bit of winter. Had 2 incidents that resulted in blood (everyone is ok). Slept terribly and navigated many meltdowns. Had a moments in which we wondered why we EVER go anywhere with two toddlers who sleep best at home. But in the end it is always worth it. The good memories override the bad ones and before you know it you are looking back with fondness on the weekend, and laughing at the craziness of it all.

Also, sometimes I forget that Alberta is pretty beautiful. You just have to go looking.

The Pollett Family

We were lucky enough to get one of the last truly nice fall days. The kind where you don't need a jacket and the sun is shining. This sweet family is totally head over heals for their little girl, and I'm sure will be for the next little girl joining their family next year!

The Miller Family

A beautiful afternoon spent exploring Inglewood with this sweet family. I have such a soft spot for little boys (not that I'm biased!). They are adventurers and never stop exploring, and there is nothing better than getting to watch them discover the world.
